URGENT prayer request

Trey's football from Coach Edmondson

Trey's name tag

(diaper change by daddy!)

11:15 am
-  Just got off the phone with James-  Trey had a good night, except for his WBC went down from 2900 to 1200.  He needs his WBC to elevate to help fight off infection.  Trey had a platelet transfusion yesterday that went well, after his transfusion his platelets were up to 125, 000 but they are now down to 78,000.

URGENT : We need to fervently pray that Trey does NOT have CMV.  The test has been performed and they will have the results Monday morning after the doctor/lab analyzes/reads them.  With Trey's low WBC & dropping platelets, his body can not handle the CMV virus.

Now is the time to lift this little baby up to the ONE who can heal his body & can perform a miracle!  Please pass this on & have everyone praying!

Pray specifically for:
  • Trey NOT to have CMV
  • Trey's WBC to increase
  • Trey's platelets to increase
  • the family

January 30, 2009 - Day 4

12:30 pm - Please notice the revised update below...

10:30 am -
(via email from James sister) - Just talked to James.  There may be a possibility that Trey has a virus/infection called CMV.  They are not sure if this is what caused him to stop moving and such, (vs. a problem with the cord)   Also, they are wanting his WBC to be at least 5000 (in case of possible CMV, so that Trey can fight it)  Trey's have held steady at 2,900.  Not dropping, but not rising.  He is going to be getting a platelet transfusion, probably today.

Pray for:
  • No CMV
  • Trey's WBC to increase
  • Naomi - as she is discharged today from the hospital (pray for strength and peace!)

2 Corinthians 1:3 - "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;"

words of encouragement can be left by clicking on the comment link at the bottom of each post!  Thank you for your continued prayers for this dear Family.  To God be the Glory!

January 29, 2009

4:00 pm - I just received an email from James sister.

"Nothing new to report on Trey, other than a slight change in his name.  When they were filling out the birth certificate, they decided, officially, on James David "Trey".  Trey is moving around a lot!  Naomi is scheduled to be discharged tomorrow."

Please continue in prayer for Trey & his family.  He has a long road ahead of him, & will have many obstacles to overcome.  We rest in His promises - "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." - Hebrews 13:5b

Thank You

We spoke with James tonight on the phone and he wanted to express how thankful they are for all the prayers, phone calls, & messages of encouragement that they have received over the last 48 hours.  He explained that at birth Trey was given a 50% survival rate due to the circumstances surrounding his birth.  That day, when they learned of his kidneys not functioning (which caused swelling) & the fact that his WBC was low/non-existent -  made the doctors more cautious due to the fact there was nothing medically they could do for him.  When, the news came this morning of Trey's kidneys functioning & his WBC elevating - the doctors were able to be cautiously optimistic with telling them that his survival rate is a tad higher than 50% as of today.  Praise the Lord for His timing & protection!

Today, we rejoice in the miracle the Lord performed with Trey's kidneys & WBC.

Continue in prayer for:
  • Trey's development & growth
  • Naomi's recovery from the c-section
  • Strength & peace for the family
  • Wisdom for the medical staff
  • God's Kingdom to be furthered when other's witness the hand of God at work.

It is the family's desire that all the Glory go to God!

*James & Naomi are able to see the site through James phone while they are at the hospital. Once home & time permitting, they may be able to update the blog themselves.  Until then or if they choose, we will remain posting for them &  be getting the most current updates on Trey via James & Naomi (or family).*

January 27, 2009

6:15 pm - (e-mail via church staff member) - Attached is a picture of Trey - keep praying and spread the word and the picture - this is a face to our prayers and will motivate people to pray.

Trey’s kidneys are not functioning. Also, they can’t find any white blood
cells., so he is not able to fight any infections. The doctors cannot do
anything with either one of these things.

Hallelujah! What A Saviour!

4:15 pm - (e-mail via sister of Naomi)- He is having difficulty with kidneys, and not able to urinate. Not clear on all details. Grandma was able to take pictures of baby Trey, he has a head full of black hair!

8:00 am (via update from James' sister) - asking everyone to pray! Naomi had the baby early this morning. I don't know the details, but the baby is on a vent and very early.

7:00 am (text received via sister of Naomi) - Baby Trey was born via c-section early this morning. weight 1 lbs. 14 oz. (27 weeks gestation)-

Pray for a miracle. God is the Great Physician!

Pray for wisdom, strength, & peace in the days/weeks to come.

God is faithful & He created Trey for a purpose!

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works;" Psalm 139:14a
