Morning update - KEEP PRAYING!

Trey gave Momma a little smile to encourage her!

Trey's oxygen is up to 65%. He is still at 6 liters on the Vapotherm. The doctors have also decided that Trey has Chronic Lung Disease. They believe that this recent downfall was because of fluid buildup on the lungs, as well as a rebound from the steriods. They are increasing his diuretic to get rid of the extra fluid. They are also going to give him potassium. They are trying to keep him from going back to the vent for as long as possible!! They weighed him and he is up to 2lbs. 8 ounces!!! Pray for James and Naomi-- they are very tired and hanging on!

Sawyer family-

I saw the picture of Trey on another blog and I had to click becuase the picture looked so much like my little nephew only a few months ago. Please know that I am praying for your trey and will be follwoing your blog to know how he is doing.

If this is any encouragement to you, I'd like to tell you that my nephew Devon was born in June of 2007 with gastroschysis, which is where the intestines develop outside the body, and more than two months premature, with a whole host of additional problems. He was at the Philadelphia Children's museum for 6 months, and there were many touch and go moments, times when his intestines were blocked, times when his lungs were infected and he was on ventilators, and his stomach and intestines needed multiple surgeries.

BUT- today he is home and thriving. He is a chubby, happy and healthy little baby boy and, thougha bit small for his age, unless you pulled up his shirt and looked at his scar, you'd never know anything was ever the matter. I am praying for the exact same kind of story for your little Trey.

If you'd like to see Devon's story, if you think it would bring you some encouragement, you can read "aunt nikki's journal" which you can find if you click on my profile. There are even more recent photos of him here, all happy and healthy:

God bless you and I am praying!
